DAVID DOE PROMISES WELFARE AND LOGISTICS FOR KETU SOUTH COMMUNICATION TEAM

News

Mr. David Doe Kwashie, the Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency, has pledged to strengthen welfare, logistics and professional support for communicators across the constituency if given the mandate to serve as Constituency Communications Officer.

Mr. Doe Kwashie, who has formally filed his nomination to contest the Communications Officer position, says his vision is to build a more coordinated, motivated and well-equipped communications team capable of effectively projecting the activities, policies and achievements of the NDC at the grassroots.

His campaign, which is being promoted under the theme “Time for the Next Level,” focuses on strengthening communication structures, grassroots participation and innovative approaches to party communication. He has served as Deputy Communications Officer for the constituency for eight years.

PROMISES STRONGER WELFARE AND LOGISTICS

At the centre of Mr. Doe Kwashie’s agenda is an expanded welfare and logistics programme for active members of the communications team.

He has outlined four key areas of support:

  1. Regular data and logistical support:
Mr. Doe Kwashie promises regular data and other logistical assistance to enable communicators to remain active on digital platforms and respond promptly to party assignments and public engagements.
  2. Welfare assistance for active team members:
He intends to strengthen welfare support for communicators, particularly those who consistently dedicate their time and resources to party communication activities.
  3. Support for media engagements and assignments:
According to his plan, communicators undertaking media engagements, field assignments and other official communication duties will receive the necessary support to perform their responsibilities effectively.
  4. Capacity building and recognition:
Mr. Doe Kwashie also plans to introduce capacity-building initiatives while recognising dedicated communicators across all branches of the constituency. The objective, he says, is to create opportunities for communicators to improve their skills while ensuring that hard work and commitment are acknowledged.

EXPERIENCE FROM 2024 CAMPAIGN

Mr. Doe Kwashie’s bid also comes against the background of his experience within the Ketu South NDC communication machinery and his involvement in the party’s activities during the 2024 general election.

He worked with the campaign structures and the office of the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, now MP, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, as the party mobilised support across the constituency ahead of the December 7, 2024 elections.

Hon. Gomashie launched the “Ketu South to the Rescue” campaign in September 2024, calling on supporters and residents to support the NDC’s presidential and parliamentary campaigns.

Within the wider campaign effort, Mr. Doe Kwashie contributed through communication, media relations, grassroots mobilisation, political advocacy and campaign coordination—areas he has identified as part of the experience he intends to bring to the Communications Officer position.

The 2024 election ultimately saw Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie retain the Ketu South parliamentary seat with 78,902 votes, according to the Electoral Commission’s certified results.

A CALL FOR A UNITED COMMUNICATIONS TEAM

Mr. Doe Kwashie has also emphasised the importance of unity and coordination within the communications team, arguing that effective communication requires communicators at the constituency and branch levels to work together.

He has pledged to work with the constituency leadership, branch executives, communicators and other stakeholders to create a communication structure where members have access to the tools, information and support required to effectively represent the party.

His vision, he says, is not only to communicate the NDC’s message but also to build a communications team in which members feel valued, supported and prepared for the responsibilities entrusted to them.

As delegates prepare for the constituency’s internal elections, Mr. David Doe Kwashie’s campaign is therefore placing significant emphasis on welfare, logistics, capacity building, recognition and stronger coordination as key components of what he describes as the next level for communication in the Ketu South NDC.
