KETU SOUTH, VOLTA REGION —
Xornam Favour Ignatius-Dei has pledged to establish an “Akpé Dada” Welfare Fund aimed at strengthening the welfare, unity and economic well-being of women within the Ketu South Constituency.

The proposed initiative, according to Xornam Favour, will serve as a support system for women who may face financial difficulties, emergencies and other challenges that affect their participation in community and party activities.

She explained that the “Akpé Dada” Welfare Fund would focus on providing practical assistance to women, particularly those who need support during difficult moments. The fund is expected to help create a stronger network of solidarity among NDC women across the constituency.

Among the areas she intends to support are emergency welfare needs, assistance to vulnerable women, skills development, small-business support and empowerment programmes designed to help women become more financially independent.

Xornam Favour also plans to encourage women to form and strengthen income-generating groups through skills training and access to support that can enable them to expand their small businesses. She believes that empowering women economically will not only improve individual families but also contribute to the development of communities across Ketu South.

The initiative will also promote unity and mutual support among NDC women, creating a platform where women can identify the challenges affecting them and work together to find sustainable solutions.

According to her vision, the fund will operate with transparency and accountability, with clear guidelines to ensure that assistance reaches women who genuinely need it.

Xornam Favour believes that women play a critical role in the growth and success of both families and political organisations. She therefore wants the welfare initiative to go beyond occasional assistance and become a sustainable mechanism through which women can receive support, develop their skills and improve their livelihoods.

She further called on NDC women in Ketu South to remain united, participate actively in the development of the constituency and support initiatives that promote their welfare and economic empowerment.

The “Akpé Dada” Welfare Fund, she said, represents her commitment to building a stronger, more supportive and empowered community of women in Ketu South—where no woman is left behind during times of difficulty.
